FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions and Helpful hints
We hope this page will answer any questions that arise whilst you are using the ECards 4 Homes website. Habitat for Humanity is sorry but it is not currently possible to supply a support service to help you use this website. We hope that the questions and answers below will be helpful to you.
What happens if one or more email addresses fail?
If you see an error message saying that one or more of the email addresses were not formatted correctly and therefore didn't send, you just need to resend it to those email addresses that failed. Everyone else on the list will have received it.
Why can't I customise it more?
Our web design team have tried to strike a balance between a rigid system and a customisable e-card service. It is not possible to make everything flexible because the system would become too complex but hopefully we have made it customisable enough for your needs. If you have any feedback, please email info@habitatforhumanity.org.uk
What if some of the ecards don't reach the intended recipients?
As soon as you click send, the ecards will be queued and then sent from the Ecards 4 Homes website. Once the ecard emails have left our system, they are out of our control. If they do not reach the intended recipient, it could be because their mailbox is full, their email system blocked the email as Spam or if you are an unknown sender. It would need to be investigated by the recipient.
Why can't I look at previous mailing lists that I sent ecards to?
Habitat for Humanity deliberately doesn't store the mailing lists that you upload to Ecards 4 Homes so as to comply with data protection best practice. It is best if you keep a record of the mailing lists you send to on your own systems. This website automatically deletes the mailing list from the system once you have sent the ecards. We do however record the date and quantity sent for you in your account history.
Why can't I upload multiple email lists?
Habitat for Humanity deliberately doesn't store the mailing lists that you upload to Ecards 4 Homes so as to comply with data protection best practice. You need to upload and send to one mailing list at a time.
Is there a maximum mailing size?
The answer is no. However, if your mailing contains more than 1000 email addresses it will be sent during the night when the system is less busy to ensure the email is sent successfully.
Do I have to pay to use Ecards 4 Homes?
Habitat for Humanity provides this website as a service to its supporters. By using the site you are helping to spread the word about Habitat for Humanity's work around the world. Although you do not have to donate in order to use the site, we would love it if you donated the money you would have spent on buying and sending cards by post to our vital work instead.
How can I be sure the e-cards have been sent?
Once you have clicked “send” and the processing has happened, a notification box should appear on the screen to tell you that the cards have been sent. Please do not click anything while the processing is happening as this could interrupt the system.
